Survive the river
Drop into the swamp with up to three friends. Fog, hounds and the walking dead between you and the next lit window. Ammo is finite. The dark isn't.
A co-op horror descent into the voodoo river — and a live show you don't watch from the crowd. You're in it.
The game — coming soon
VuDuRvR is a co-op survival horror game set on the bayou — and the venue where Charlie Bad and Papa Legba play live. Same world, same build, same night.
Drop into the swamp with up to three friends. Fog, hounds and the walking dead between you and the next lit window. Ammo is finite. The dark isn't.
When the stage lights hit, the game becomes a concert. Real sets, real crowd, real lighting rig — everyone in the server on the floor at the same time.
Every screenshot on this page is the game running. No pre-rendered trailers, no bait. What you see is what boots.
The story
VuDuRvR — voodoo river — takes its name from the practices of the people whose cultures collided on this water, and whose river sat at the center of all life, death and spiritual renewal. Caddo Lake doesn't give anything back. It just keeps it.
Hard Luck Charlie Bad was the son of a preacher. Papa Legba keeps the crossroads and decides what crosses. Between the two of them there's a deal, a record, and a town that has been pretending not to notice for a long time.
You are a participant,
not merely a spectator. — VuDuRvR
The story also lives where it started: in a comic book. The panels, the game and the record are the same story told three ways — and none of them tells you the whole thing.

Who you'll meet
Two of them front the band. The rest of them are why the band plays in the dark.

Son of a preacher out of Uncertain, Texas. Sings like he's arguing with someone who isn't there. Charlie judges no one — which is exactly how he ended up owing what he owes.

He keeps the crossroads and works the decks, and he does not see much difference between the two jobs. Nothing passes between the worlds without going through him first. Papa Legba, unlike Charlie, absolutely does judge you.

Grew up on this water and never bought a word of what the town tells itself about it. She's the one still standing in the parking lot when the fog rolls in, waiting to see who comes out of it.

The river keeps what it takes, and sometimes it hands it back. They come out of the treeline in numbers, and on show nights they're down on the floor with everybody else. They know the words.
The live show
Full rig, full crowd, no loading screen between the swamp and the stage. Charlie on the mic, Legba on the decks, everyone in the server on the floor — including the ones that shouldn't be.
Post-electro swamp phonk and whatever else the two of them drag in: Southern glitchcore, hyper-chitlins, metaverse rave, a little DC go-go. It is jarring on purpose.

The record
There will never be another VuDuRvR project. It comes out when it's real and not before.
The community
The Discord is where the game gets tested, the show dates get called, and the story gets argued about. Playtesters get in first — that's the whole system.
